Blockad - Kosackvalet

This original vintage Swedish political poster from 1928 was produced for Allmänna valmansförbundet during the Swedish parliamentary election of 1928, an election campaign commonly known as "Kosackvalet" (the Cossack Election) because of its strongly anti-communist rhetoric.

The dramatic illustration shows a workplace under "BLOCKAD", where a man and his family are confronted by a group of workers. The slogan translates approximately as: "You who vote for the 'Workers' Party' vote for trade-union tyranny and communist slavery." The imagery and wording reflect the intense political confrontation surrounding the 1928 election and the campaign against cooperation between the Social Democrats and Communists.

Printed by Bengtons Lit. A-B., Stockholm, the poster is part of the well-known series produced for the 1928 election campaign. A striking historical example of Swedish interwar political propaganda and graphic design.

In poor condition with large tears and areas of paper loss. Some of the tears have been mended with archival tape. Despite the condition, the poster retains a strong visual impact and would look good framed.
