Description:

This original vintage Finnish railway travel poster was designed by celebrated Finnish graphic artist Erik Bruun to promote Rautateiden Rengasmatkat (Railway Round Trips), encouraging tourists to explore Finland by train.

The colorful illustration features a giant flowering wild plant, possibly cow parsley or wild angelica, rising above a peaceful Finnish summer landscape. A butterfly hovers among the white blossoms, while a steam locomotive pulls red passenger carriages past green forests and distant hills. The combination of botanical imagery, bold colors and simplified forms is characteristic of Bruun's distinctive mid-century Scandinavian modernist design.

Erik Bruun is one of Finland's most renowned poster designers, particularly known for his nature illustrations, wildlife subjects and travel posters. The Finnish text "Selostusvihkosia asemilta ja matkatoimistoista" informs travelers that brochures were available at railway stations and travel agencies.

A beautiful and highly decorative original vintage Finnish railway poster by Erik Bruun, combining the charm of steam train travel with the natural beauty of Finland. An attractive example of Finnish tourism advertising and mid-century graphic design that would look wonderful framed.

Professionally mounted on linen and in very good condition.
