Bygdefolk stem med Bondepartiet

Historical context:
In the 1949 elections, Bondepartiet emphasized unity among rural voters in the face of the dominant Labour Party. While the Labour Party secured 85 of 150 seats, Bondepartiet received 4.9% of the vote, continuing to play a symbolic role as the voice of Norway’s countryside.

This striking poster combines sharp modernist typography with patriotic rural imagery, a classic example of postwar political propaganda art in Norway.
