Ivar Gull's original vintage poster, promoting Norway as a travel destination, is a rare and remarkable piece. The French version of the poster, printed in 1939, features locals in folklore costumes en route to a Stave Church against a backdrop of fjords and mountains. Stave churches, medieval wooden Christian church buildings once common in north-western Europe, add to the poster's appeal.
Although the poster displays some patina, including wear, tears, scratches, and foxing, it has been professionally mounted on linen with an acid-free barrier to ensure its preservation. The poster would look stunning when framed and hung on a wall. Ask for better photos if you like to see the faults.
