This vibrant and humorous original vintage poster was created in 1950 by Danish designer Viggo Vagnby for SAS Cargo, the freight division of Scandinavian Airlines. The design features a stylized aircraft packed with an eclectic mix of goods, ranging from bicycles and cameras to animals and musical instruments. Below, a tearful giraffe watches from the ground, excluded from the cargo—a direct reference to SAS’s witty slogan: “Anything but me”.
This poster was part of the famous “Everything Except Giraffes” campaign, a brilliant example of Scandinavian wit and visual storytelling. It has since become a classic of mid-century airline advertising, representing a time when commercial aviation was rapidly expanding and marketing took bold, creative turns.
A rare and collectable piece, ideal for aviation enthusiasts, vintage poster collectors, or anyone drawn to striking 1950s graphic design.
