Issued in 1946 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Van Gend & Loos, this striking Dutch advertising poster celebrates the remarkable evolution of one of Europe's oldest transport and logistics companies. Founded in 1796, Van Gend & Loos began as a horse-drawn coach and parcel service before growing into a nationwide freight carrier. The artwork contrasts an early stagecoach with a modern 1940s delivery truck, illustrating a century and a half of innovation in transportation.
The poster is signed "MW". While the monogram has been attributed by some to Machiel Wilmink, this attribution has not been conclusively verified.
Condition: Very good condition. Pinholes and small tears with light age wear.
