Description:

This original vintage Greece travel poster was published in 1975 by the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) to promote the island of Skyros, one of the Sporades Islands in the Aegean Sea. The striking photograph by R. Parissis captures the island's distinctive whitewashed houses cascading across the hillside, with the bell tower of a traditional church in the foreground. The minimalist design, featuring a bold lowercase "greece" logotype beneath the image, is characteristic of the sophisticated tourism campaigns produced by Greece during the 1970s.

Skyros is the southernmost of the Sporades Islands and is renowned for its unique blend of Cycladic and northern Aegean architecture, unspoiled beaches, and rich cultural heritage. The tightly clustered white cubic houses surrounding the medieval hilltop settlement have long made the island one of Greece's most picturesque destinations, while its traditional festivals, local crafts, and association with ancient Greek mythology continue to attract visitors from around the world.

A beautiful original vintage Greek travel poster that combines exceptional travel photography with the clean, modern graphic design for which the Greek National Tourism Organisation became internationally recognized during the 1970s.

In very good condition with light age wear.
