A very rare and original Australian travel poster from the 1930's designed by famous Australian graphic artist James Northfield. Northfield illustrated many commercial and government advertisements, which depict Australian scenery, wildlife and daily life.
This poster depicts an Australian Lyrebird. A lyrebird is either of two species of ground-dwelling Australian birds, that form the genus, Menura, and the family Menuridae. They are most notable for their superb ability to mimic natural and artificial sounds from their environment.
Text on the poster: "Australian National Publicity Association, Railway Building, Flinders St, Melbourne. No. 104. Photo Litho., McLarens, Melbourne."
A great and very rare poster in excellent condition.
