This stunning original 1916 travel poster promotes Davos as a winter destination. It's truly a statement piece of the genre.
Designed by one of the fathers of Swiss poster art, the Swiss designer Burkhard Mangold that has become famous for his designs of advertisement posters.
Davos “Winterkuren” is the center panel and main focal point of a five-panel masterpiece designed by Mangold. Each panel represents a different letter in the name of the Swiss resort "Davos." All the panels were intended to be a poster in its own right as well as being part of the larger concept. An iconic poster!
In very good condition, with replaced loss in upper right corner and repaired tears at edges and into lower image. Mounted on linen. Looks good!
