A rare original vintage poster issued by the London & North Eastern Railway of England and Scotland. The poster is designed by well know poster designer Fred Taylor depicting the Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire.

Fountains Abbey is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England. It is located approximately 3 miles (5 kilometers) south-west of Ripon in North Yorkshire, near to the village of Aldfield. Founded in 1132, the abbey operated for 407 years, becoming one of the wealthiest monasteries in England until its dissolution, by order of Henry VIII, in 1539.

This poster was mentioned in Commercial Art / Art and Industry 1928-07-01, page 33.

In good condition. Light edge wear, dirt, foxing. Would look good framed.
