This original vintage poster, designed by Torsten Schonberg in 1922, serves to promote the draw on the Government's Premium Bonds of 1921 scheduled for the first half of 1922. The poster showcases the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Sweden in dark brown/red ink.
A Swedish premium bond is a type of government bond, signifying that those purchasing premium bonds are essentially lending money to the treasury. Issued by the National Debt Office, the premium bonds do not pay interest directly to individual holders. Instead, the National Debt Office accumulates the interest in a pool, drawing winners from the bondholders. Holders are not guaranteed interest but have the chance to win money in each draw.
While the poster exhibits some signs of age wear, including crumbles and tears, the poster remains a historical artifact representing the Premium Bonds draw in the early 1920s.
