This is a wonderful, original, and genuine vintage poster promoting the Swedish American Line's Baltic Service.
This German version of the poster features the text: "MARIEHOLM" "KASTELHOLM" - OSTSEEDIENST DER SCHWEDISCHEN AMERIKA LINIE.
The colorful rendering by designer Åke Rittmark, who created more posters for SAL, depicts a nautical scene with a map at the top showing ports of call, and an SAL vessel with the fleet's recognizable white hull. It includes a "city skyline" with famous landmarks from the visiting destinations, such as the City Hall of Stockholm.
The poster also promotes the ships SS «Kastelholm» in service from 1929–1952 and SS «Marieholm» from 1934–1940.
The poster is in very good condition overall, with minor restoration of a small tear at the border and light water damage at the top. It has been mounted on paper and would look great as wall decor.
