Norwegen-Fahrten 1914 Norddeutscher Lloyd Bremen

This is a stunning original vintage cruise line poster issued by Norddeutscher Lloyd Bremen. A very early travel poster promoting cruises to the Norwegian cost and north of Norway to see the fjords and the Sami people.

This rendering by Amtsberg depicts a native Sami with a reindeer from his herd. 

The mountain Sami who came down to the coast with their flocks in the summer quickly became a tourist attraction. The NDL used this design to attract cruise tourists. The meeting with the natives made the travel program extra exotic.

In very good condition. Survived over 100 years! Some age wear, light foxing, two small tears. A very hard poster to find. Lucky to have found a new one.
