This vibrant and original vintage poster, issued by BOAC in the 1950s, was designed to promote their flights to the Far East.
The poster features a colorful depiction of a traditional Thai dancer set against a backdrop of mountains, a pagoda, wooden boats, and a junk boat in full sail on the sea. A colorful geometric pattern embellishes the bottom of the design. This is the uncommon large version of this poster.
The British Overseas Airways Corporation, established in 1939 through the merger of Imperial Airways and British Airways Ltd., continued to operate overseas services throughout World War II. The airline later merged again between 1971 and 1974 to form British Airways.
The poster is in very good condition, showing only light edge wear. Its vivid colors remain strikingly vibrant, making this piece a superb example of mid-century aviation art.
