This is a beautiful travel poster by Arent Christensen issued by Norwegian State Railways to promote Norway as a tourist destination.
The poster has a colorful rendering by Christensen depicting a steam locomotive crossing a railway bridge in beautiful landscape.
Christensen was born in Denmark but his family moved to Norway before he was seven. He was a graphic artist and belonged to the first generation of Norwegian artists who were trained in graphics.
He was purchased by the Victoria and Albert Museum and was elected to the Society of Graphic Artists.
This is a typical Christensen work and is one of his two Norwegian travel posters.
In excellent condition. Mounted on linen.
